About the firm
Ray Law Group PLLC
Founded by Ryan Ray, a Texas attorney of 17 years — and a solar customer who was sold one thing and delivered another.
We represent homeowners and property owners — not solar companies, dealers, or lenders.
Ryan Ray
I have practiced law in Texas for 17 years, and most of that work has been on the owner’s side of the table — fighting for property owners like you. That work taught me how these fights are really won: with documents, deadlines, and persistence.
A few years ago I bought solar panels for my own home. I believed in the technology then and I believe in it now. What I did not get was the system I was sold. I have paid thousands of dollars in loan payments while production has come in far below what the proposal projected.
I did what a homeowner is supposed to do. I hired a large firm that advertises solar cases, signed the engagement agreement — and never heard from them again. No updates, no plan, no returned calls. That experience is the reason this practice exists.
Residential solar grew faster in Texas than the rules protecting the people buying it. Door-to-door sales teams, third-party dealers, and finance companies built a system where the person who made the promises is rarely the person holding the contract when something goes wrong. Homeowners are left with a 20- or 25-year loan and a system that does not perform the way it was sold.
This practice exists to even that out. We take the paperwork apart: the purchase agreement, the loan documents, the change orders, the interconnection and inspection records, the production data, and the text messages from the salesperson. Then we pursue the claim in whatever forum the contract requires, which in most Texas solar deals is arbitration.
I am not anti-solar. The technology works. The way it is sold, financed, and installed in Texas is royally broken and, in too many cases, predatory. Texas law gives consumers real tools, including the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and my goal is straightforward: put homeowners back in the position they would have been in if the truth had been told.
